PIT CREW:
The Series

(feat. Kenny Omega vs DJ)

Showrunner, Created by, Earned Media, Gaming, Sports

Pit Crew, hosted by the amazing Trisha Hershberger and Malik Forte, began as a built-to-sell show for our friends at Intel, but audience reception was strong enough to warrant a season of it on Crown Channel. Typically, the premise was simple: a Pro and an Influencer or celebrity went head to head for 3 rounds in the Pro’s favored game. In between rounds, our titular Pit Crew upgraded the amateurs rig while downgrading the Pro’s typically with ancient or barely functioning equipment. We knew for the premiere, we had to do something special…

When I noticed that MMA legend Demetrious Johnson had challenged AEW wrestler Kenny Omega to a charity match. Sliding into DM’s we sprung into action. Not only were we able to book Kenny and DJ, we were able to partner with AEW and ONE MMA to help promote not just the episode, but our entire series. This included on air and in arena CTA’s on AEW programming, and social video promoting from both men and their respective org’s.

What resulted was a fantastic event to kick off our 6 episode series, and earned us press from Sports Illustrated and DAZN among others.

MIXED PLATE

Showrunner, Created By, Talent, Live, Cooking

Mixed Plate was a live cooking show we created with a simple premise: we tell people’s stories through food. Host and Chef Andy Lunique would invite a new guest each week, typically one with a fascinating family story, and then we would build a 3 course menu that expresses their culture, their travels, and their stories.

HyperRPG was the perfect Production partner for this, as celebrating multicultural experiences is in their DNA. Long before David Chang was cooking live on Netflix, Mixed Plate was serving up platefulls of story every week.

PRO/Rated

Showrunner, Created by, UGC, Reaction

In 2019, we worked with Jukin Media to create a slate of original Programming that paired our creative concepts against the mountain of User Generated Content across their multiple brands (Fail Army, Pet Collective, People Are Awesome) while still being cost effective. From those needs arose PRO/RATED, where athletes often featured on People Are Awesome would react to fails and wins depicted in some of our clips.

Moreover, this format proved to solve a significant problem for UGC content on platforms like Facebook, where UGC compilations are often demonetized. But through a cost effective production, and reasonably fast turnaround time, we could ensure this series, and others like it, we could create funny and engaging content that also made business sense.

MULTITUDE

Showrunner, Created By, Gaming, Virtual Production

At Crown we wanted a new spin on party gaming, but with an entirely remote cast. For fun, game night house party vibes, we cast Sancho West as our host, with a simple premise: each week a new featured guest would come over, along with 4-8 other guests, to break into two teams for house stakes. We had built a virtual house for Sancho and his guests to get their game on. What we HADN’T planned on was for Sancho going on a season long losing streak that quickly became the topic amongst our fan base and socials.
